Tow To Go - AAA
The Tow to Go program helps to prevent impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel and endangering themselves and others on the roadway. A program of AAA – The Auto Club Group, it reminds party-goers of the importance to plan ahead by choosing a designated driver, staying where you are celebrating, or arranging for another form of safe transportation such as AAA’s Tow to Go program.
Team Georgia has a number of programs that it operates in order to promote safe and sober driving. These programs are intended to help keep drunk drivers off of the roads and the water. These programs are extremely successful and not only do they help to protect and inform the public, but the volunteers that run these programs are touched by the organization’s purpose as well.
In 2019, 10,142 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes ; that is one every 52 minutes.
Alcohol-impaired motor vehicle crashes cost more than an estimated $44 billion annually.
Even a small amount of alcohol can affect driving ability. In 2019, there were 1,775 people killed in alcohol-related crashes where a driver had a BAC of .01 to .07 g/dL.
Approximately one-third of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers (with BACs of .08 g/dL or higher).
