TEAM Georgia also undertakes programs involving the future of our country. Protecting the youth of today is of utmost priority and we are happy to be involved with initiatives such as SafeProm.
Especially at Prom and Graduation season, TEAM Georgia and QuikTrip are spreading the word about Safe Driving to teenagers in Georgia. Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers. Young drivers account for 8.5 percent, or 563,202, of all Georgia drivers. In 2008, 15-to 20-year old drivers were involved in 67,712 crashes resulting in 3,749 injuries and 87 deaths. In addition, 24 percent of 15-to 20-year old drivers involved in fatal crashes had BAC levels of .01 g/dL or higher.
The TEAM Georgia/QuikTrip Teen Driving "Safe Prom" cards will be distributed to high schools throughout the metro area to educate students on the current teen driving laws and to remind them to make resonsible choices during the annual season of school celebrations. You may also pick one up at any metro QuikTrip location.
